       About us

Welcome to Nido Aguila Blanca

Holiday complex Nido Aguila Blanca in Andalusia is run by us: Dan Balteanu (49), Bianca Popelier (48), Cat (17) and Sam (14). Dan was born in the Romanian Bucharest, while I, Bianca am a born Amsterdam. We met in Gran Canaria in 1997. After living together in Almere for 7 years, we were ready for a new adventure. In 2005 we emigrated to Northern Spain, where our daughter Cat was born that same year. In July 2008 her brother Sam was born in the province of Valencia.

How did we get here?

The start of our holiday paradise!

Our thought was correct, six months later we moved to Guaro in the province of Malaga. We have run the La Molineta holiday complex there for seven years, always with great pleasure, but still under a lease contract. We had never had our own company before so we had to find out a lot and that was not always easy, but this is how our concept has slowly grown. We liked it so much that we went looking for a house with some land to buy, where we could continue with the same approach.

When we found our current home in May 2015, we fell in love and saw the opportunity to realize 3 apartments and do it all for ourselves. Under the house was a large room consisting of a spacious garage, a large meeting room, a bathroom and a bedroom. After four intensive months of renovations, it was ready for the first guests.

We are so happy with our own place where we can make everything to our own liking.

Although we lived well in both provinces, Spanish life did not quite meet our expectations. The fact that in both provinces Catalan/ Valencian was spoken was a disadvantage because most of the lessons at school would therefore not be taught in Spanish. In addition, finding a large plot of land that was affordable was not that easy. Then we found a beautiful complex that was for rent in Andalusia. Going further south in Spain was not possible, so this had to be the right match!

Our passion

ā€‹

We are very active and prefer to do things outdoors. As a result, we have already seen a lot of our surroundings and we would like to share it with others. We can make all kinds of suggestions about beautiful places and nice trips.

Cat and Sam like to hang out with the children who stay with us and we also love the fun it brings. In any case, it is also very varied to run your own company and make decisions about everything yourself.

What we enjoy a lot is making the garden more beautiful every year. For example, we have realized the swimming pool, a lot of borders with plants, the outdoor kitchen, nice seating areas and play attributes and we are now also working on a new project. We get a lot of inspiration for this during our travels, which we love to do out of season. But what makes us most happy is to see that our guests have a wonderful holiday and find fun in our garden, and finally go home relaxed, recharged and full of new impressions.
